PITTSBURGH (100.1 FM and AM 1020 KDKA) Pittsburgh SWAT teams were called to a home on the corner of Manilla Street and and Bedford Boulevard.
People were warned to avoid the area as authorities shut down the surrounding area gunfire, teargas, and negotiations took place.
Police and the suspect, who was identified as Khalil Singletary, exchanged rounds of gunfire after an initial use of tear gas.
Singletary was wanted in connection with a homicide that took place in Zone 3 on Sept. 22.
Police urged media outlets to keep their helicopters away from the area as the standoff took place.
It has been confirmed that the Singletary has died on the scene, and no police were injured in the incident.
