
Allegheny County Police have announced a “significant drug seizure” and two arrests.
Police announced Friday that the Department’s Narcotics, Vice and Intelligence Unit were involved in a search for 32-year-old Dontez Peoples who was wanted after an incident in January.
On Tuesday, detectives saw Peoples at an apartment in the 100 block of Larimer Avenue in East Liberty.
He as later seen leaving the apartment and entering a vehicle with 30-year-old Tyla Jones. When police approached the vehicle. He ran, but was taken into custody shortly after.
Police found over 40 bricks of heroin/fentanyl, over 28 grams of crack cocaine, THC wax, a loaded handgun and ammunition inside the apartment.
Detectives say the drugs were easily accessible to two juveniles living in the apartment.
Peoples and Jones face multiple charged including children endangerment, drug possession with intent to deliver and more.
Peoples as arraigned on Wednesday and released on nonmonetary bail.
