SWAT situation on 31st Street Bridge ends with man in custody

Pittsburgh police confirm SWAT teams were sent to the area of the 31st Street bridge Monday afternoon.

There had been reports that a driver in a stolen car had struck a woman near the bridge and then fled on foot.

The incident reportedly began with a carjacking in Stowe Township.

An official with the Allegheny County Sheriff's Office tells KDKA Radio one of their drones was used to locate the suspect under the bridge on Washington's Landing.

The suspect was taken into custody.
