Terrible Tailgate finds new home after being forced to move

The Popular pre-game party outside Acrisure Stadium will be at Nova Place

The Terrible Tailgate lives... after finding a new home.

Kevin Adams, the man behind the popular Terrible Tailgate tells KDKA Radio’s Colin Dunlap he's found a new spot for his popular tailgate.

That's after ALCO Parking told him and others they can't use their usual spots due to complaints about some tailgates becoming too big.

So, they're moving to the Canal Lot at Nova Place.

“They were ecstatic to have us there,” said Adams, “They have a parking garage across the street that, if you’re coming and you want to park with us, you can, but they would prefer if you would park in the parking garage directly across the street and then they’re going to give us roughly half of the parking lot in order to throw the tailgates moving forward.”

Terrible Tailgate guests at this week include Steeler legends Donnie Shell, Rocky Bleier and John Kolb.

Merrill Stabile, President of Alco Parking tells KDKA Radio’s Marty Griffin they had to step in because the Terrible Tailgate was a “crowd control problem.”

“The police have even said to us, they’re spilling out into the streets, out into the intersection and someone’s going to get hurt,” said Stabile.

Stabile admits that Adams was trying to do the right thing by cleaning up the site and providing his own security, “but 400 people is 400 people.”

Stabile says the new location at Nova Place will be great for the Terrible Tailgate and wishes them luck.
