A storage gas well in Cambria County continues to leak after it was first detected on November 6. David Hess, former DEP Secretary, told The Rick Dayton Show the leak is the largest in PA history.
The owner of the well, Equitrans Midstream Corp., the DEP (Department of Environmental Protection), and local emergency officials have been responding to the leak. The well is said to have leaked over 100 billion cubic feet.
According to Equitrans, the equipment to remove the obstruction took days to arrive, causing delays in the repair. The DEP has issued five notices of violation to Equitrans including failure to provide initial access to the incident site
