The final episode of the first season of the Max show “The Pitt” aired on Thursday night to rave reviews.

The show, starring Noah Wyle, takes place inside a fictional hospital in Pittsburgh, but is modeled after Allegheny General Hospital on the North Side.

While most of the filming was done in California, all of the exterior shots of the city and rooftop scenes were filmed in Pittsburgh.

And now that the first season has ended, the numbers are in and they’re better than expected.

Since debuting on January 9, each new episode has had more viewers than that last.

Each episode has averaged 10 million viewers or more with the first episode pulling in 16.2 million viewers so far.

The reviews for “The Pitt” have been great at well, with the series getting a 97 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Wyle stars at Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch, leading a group of medical students and interns in emergency medicine.

“THE PITT is a realistic examination of the challenges facing healthcare workers in today’s America as seen through the lens of the frontline heroes working in a modern-day hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania,” Max said in a release.

Season 2 of "The Pitt" is coming to Max.
