Sentencing occurred Friday in a high-profile murder case in Westmoreland County.
Judge Michael Stewart sentenced 55-year-old Thomas Stanko to life in prison without parole following his conviction on murder and other charges back in February.
Stanko was charged four years ago in the death of his former girlfriend, Cassandra Gross, though her body was never found following her 2018 disappearance.
A judge declared her legally dead in 2019.
Not long after her disappearance, Gross's abandoned vehicle was found burnt out.
During his trial, Stanko was also convicted of reckless burning, which led to an additional 42 to 84 months on top of his sentence for the murder.
