
It may be dreary out today, but it is the most wonderful time of the year with local holiday activities getting underway Friday night.
Kennywood's Holiday Lights kicks off this evening and the amusement park says it offers more to see than ever before.
Lynsey Winters, spokesperson for Kennywood, tells KDKA Radio the park is celebrating its 13th anniversary of Holiday Lights with plenty ways to celebrate.

Holiday Lights runs Fridays 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. November 15 through December 23 and daily from December 26 through January 1.

At the Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium, Wild Illuminations begins Friday evening.
A “holiday lantern experience” presented by UPMC Health Plan “is a fabulously frosty reimagination of the Zoo’s treasured Asian Lantern Festival and Zoo Lights.
Guests who have marveled at the handmade silk and steel structures will be amazed by an all-new lineup of sights, sounds, and surprises.”
Visitors will see over one million lights and get to do other activities, taste holiday treats and visit with Santa.

And, the UPMC Rink at PPG Place begins its holiday hours on Friday evening.
All ages are welcome with those 13 and older able to skate for an hour and 45 minutes for $12. Children, seniors, members of the military and first responders are $11.
