Today is vaccine deadline day for about 5,000 Allegheny County employees.
Those that do not comply with County Executive Rich Fitzgerald's mandate or have a medical or religious exemption will face termination.
Fitzgerald told News Radio KDKA over 90 percent of employees are vaccinated.
"Those folks that have not submitted that paperwork", he says, "and haven't submitted the online stuff that says they've been vaccinated will be notified, and quite frankly they'll be disqualified for being employees of Allegheny County".
Last week, a federal judge rejected an injunction request by county jail guards and police unions hoping to put a stop to the mandate.
They're now asking the state labor relations board to rule in their favor and reinstate those who lose their jobs.
