Political analyst Doug Saltzman advises staying away from politics, although he admits it's a topic that's pretty difficult to avoid in today's climate:

"You got to be careful, you don't want to upset people", he says. "But you can have civil discussions. It's actually possible. There were days when Ronald Reagan and Tip O'Neil had a beer after 5:00. They fought like cats and dogs during the day, but they were civil afterwards. It would be nice to see that again return to politics".

If you have to talk politics, Saltzman, who was a guest on the NewsRadio KDKA morning show, recommends playing a game of political trivia to lighten the mood.
