Jurors deliberated for more than 7 hours today, before breaking for the night.

They are trying to determine if convicted gunman Robert Bowers will get life in prison or the death penalty.

Tuesday morning, the judge denied a second request from Bowers’ attorneys to declare a mistrial after a U.S. marshal talked with members of the jury about the weapons used in the mass shooting and how they work.

The jury also requested at one point today to see those weapons, an AR-15 and three Glocks.

Bowers shot and killed 11 people inside the Tree of Life synagogue and was convicted on dozens of federal charges, including hate crimes.
