The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center is finalizing an agreement to acquire Trinity Health System, marking UPMC's first major expansion into the Ohio market.
The transaction involving the four-hospital network from parent company CommonSpirit Health is anticipated to conclude following regulatory review.
Tentative finalization date is Thursday.
The deal will bring the total number of hospitals operated by the Pittsburgh-based hospital and health insurance giant to 46.
