PITTSBURGH (Newsradio KDKA) - Statewide Opening Day of Trout Season begins Saturday, April 2.
The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission will stock 3.2 million trout in 696 streams and 128 lakes across the commonwealth this year.
Some things to keep in mind:
- There is no more “regional opening day” for southeastern counties – only the statewide dates.
- Anglers ages 16 and older require a fishing license and a trout permit.
- To buy a fishing license, visit: www.fishanddboat.com
In case you did not know, fishing contributes more than $720 million to Pennsylvania’s economy annually.
