
Two 11-year-old girls were hit by a vehicle on the North Side Wednesday evening.
It happened around 5 p.m. at the intersection of Jacksonia Street and Brighton Road.
One of the children was unresponsive and taken to a hospital in critical condition, the other was alert in stable condition.
A medic unit was nearby on another call witnessed the accident and was able to administer aid immediately.
An initial investigation shows the adult female diver was turning left from Jacksonia onto Brighton when the girls tried to cross the street.
The driver remained at the scene and police are investigating.
In North Versailles, a 28-year-old was hit by a vehicle around 6:10 p.m. Wednesday evening in the 1800 block of Lincoln Highway.
That person was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
The driver of the vehicle also stayed on the scene.
