
South Park has welcomed two baby buffalo over the weekend.
One calf was born on Friday, another was born on Sunday.
The calf born on Friday is named Riis after the founder of the Allegheny County Parks system, Paul Riis. The baby born on St. Patrick’s Day is named Roddey, after the County’s first Executive Jim Roddey, who recently passed away.
The herd of Bison have been at the South Park Game Preserve for nearly 100 years.

The public can visit the game preserve anytime between 7 a.m. and dusk.
On Tuesday and Friday mornings, at 9:30, a public feed is available.
