Two people are now charged in connection with last week's disappearance of a 17-year-old girl in New Sewickley.
Chief Greg Carney says the charges were filed against 25-year-old Johnathan Crowe and 19-year-old Ashlynn Quaintance, both of Ohio.
“They came in contact through social media, various social media platforms,” said Carney. “They befriended her and began talking to her, which led to the juvenile being picked up on Friday morning here in New Sewickley Township and then taken back to Ohio.”
Carney says the two will be tried in Ohio.
He says parents should monitor what their kids are doing online and that teenagers should exercise caution when interacting with strangers on social media.
Crowe faces a felony human trafficking charge and Quaintance faces multiple charges.
The 17-year-old was found safely inside a home outside of Bucyrus, Ohio and returned to Pennsylvania.
