Two people, including 102-year-old, die in separate accidents in Indiana Co.

Two people have died after two separate incidents involving a vehicle in Indiana County.

The first incident happened around 4 p.m. Friday afternoon at the intersection of Route 22 and Resort Plaza Drive in Burrell township.

Police say a vehicle ran a red light at the intersection and struck another vehicle.

One of the passengers in that second vehicle was 102-year-old Mary Lutz of Avonmore, Westmoreland County.

She was transported to the hospital but died of her injuries.

The other two people in the vehicle were taken to the hospital for their injuries.

It’s unclear if any charges will be filed against the driver who police say ran the red light.

And, just before midnight Friday on Old Route 119 south in White Township, A 30-year-old man was struck by a vehicle driven by a 16-year-old male.

Police say the 30-year-old was lying on his back in the southbound lane of the road when he was struck.

He died at the scene. He's been identified as Bryan Boyd of Homer City.
