Pittsburgh City Council is moving forward to make information about the city's infrastructure more accessible.

Council recommended two bills, one that would require the city to regularly update public reports about the city's infrastructure, and another that would create an infrastructure commission.
Councilman Anthony Coghill he feels the commission will be useful to the city's residents.
“I envision being under bridges with engineers who know what they’re doing and me, just as a communicator back to my community to say, ‘This is what our engineers stated.’”
Councilman Reverend Ricky Burgess abstained from the bill that would require infrastructure reporting, saying it's more important to put money toward infrastructure concerns now.
“If we’re going to go down this road, simply to go down this road for a photo-op, or for momentary celebration, is not enough. Now, we have to raise the money and make it the focus of our task. Raise the money to fix this infrastructure,” said Reverend Burgess.
A final vote on the bills could take place as early as next week.
