We’re learning more after two people were found dead following an apparent hostage situation Wednesday in Uniontown.

Pennsylvania State Police say at around 8 a.m. on Thursday, Troopers out of Uniontown received a call that a note was found inside the Woodview Terrace housing complex.

Police said they note, found in the commons area, said, “Call cops, hostage situation 706. Do not approach door, 50 gallons of gas and gun. Call me” followed by a phone number.

Arriving Troopers found smoke coming out of an apartment window. That window was coming from apartment #706.

Police secured the area around the 700 building and evacuated people in the 600, 700 and 800 building complexes.

With the help of property management and fire departments, Troopers using technology and other resources available to them, were able to clear the apartment of “additional hazards” and the fire was put out.

After entering the apartment, two people were found dead inside. They’re identified as Charles Nara and Megan Kulenovic.
