Two women charged after dog found without food or water in Rostraver

Two women are facing charges after a dog was found in an apartment, abandoned, without food or water for two weeks in Rostraver.

The property managers received complaints about a dog barking and a maintenance worker entered, found the apartment in deplorable conditions.

The apartment was covered with animal feces and was without heat when the worker found a Shih Tzu in a closet, barely breathing.

Rostraver Police took the dog to an animal hospital where it had to be euthanized. The dog was suffering from starvation and hypothermia.

Police say they contacted previous tenant of the apartment, Major-Frost. She told police she was in the hospital for 10 days and asked a woman named Kisha Bradley of Monessen to take care of the dog.

Both women are charged with felony aggravated cruelty to animals, cruelty to animals and neglect.
