Snow and ice are tapering off, but road conditions are still bad.
The major interstates have greatly-improved from earlier with the snow and ice leaving the area, but secondary and side streets are still dicey.
Flooding, downed wires and trees are closing roads in Fayette and Westmoreland counties. Parts of Rt. 982 in Latrobe are closed due to rising waters.
PennDOT District 12 spokesperson Melissa Massko spoke to KDKA Radio about the situation stemming from Winter Storm Landon.
"We have 20 roads effected by flooding and downed-utilities in our district, as well as downed trees."
Massko adds crews will continue to clear roads throughout the day and into the night with re-freeing possible due to temperatures in the single digits.
Duquesne Light currently has 2,271 customers without power. Penn Power is reporting over 20,000 of their customers in Washington County lost power. An additional 2,500 in Allegheny County.
