UPMC has acknowledged on social media that they are making what they call limited reductions with about 200 employees being let go.
They also those affected are not in clinical or member facing roles.
They also mentioned they would receive enhanced severance pay and benefits coverage.
In total, UPMC has around 100,000 employees.
UPMC's first quarter operating revenue was almost $8.5 billion dollars.
UPMC is the largest nongovernmental employer in Pennsylvania.
They are also in the process of acquiring Trinity Health in Steubenville.
