The Rink at PPG Place has been named the “most beautiful ice rink in North America” and is one of the top rinks in the entire world.
That’s according to a new study by Premier Inn.
The UPMC Rink at PPG Place came in 9th in the world in the new study and is #1 in all of North America.
Over 50 iconic rinks were on the list from all around the world.
“This recognition is a tremendous honor for Pittsburgh and a proud milestone for Magic Ice USA (the people behind the PPG rink,” a release reads. “For 25 years, we have had the privilege of designing, building, and operating The Rink at PPG Place, supporting a holiday tradition that has become deeply woven into the cultural fabric of the city.”
For comparison, the famous Rink at Rockefeller Center came in 14th overall in the world.
Opening in 2001, the UPMC Rink at PPG Place is bigger than the one at Rockefeller Center by 67 percent!
