Taxes are about to go up in one local school district.
The Upper Saint Clair School Board has given preliminary approval to a budget that would hike the millage rate by three percent.
The district cites a number of reasons for the increase including the County's Common-level ratio and higher costs for electricity and health care.
The board is set to take a final vote next month.
Seneca Valley is also considering a three and a half percent increase, also pointing to higher health insurance costs.
