Over $13k worth of Pokémon cards stolen from gaming store in New Kensington

A man in Ford City is accused of sealing Pokémon and other trading card worth over $13,000.

The Westmoreland County’s D.A.’s office say 48-year-old Jeffrey Spang stole cards from the “Feisty Goblin” gaming store on Fifth Avenue in New Kensington during 12 different visits to the store.

Police were alerted to the suspected thefts in late November after the owner said large amounts of merchandise had been taken since earlier that month.

After reviewing surveillance video, police say Spang placing items in a bag or distracting workers and then stealing the items.

The total amount of Pokémon and other cards stolen is over $13,118.

Investigator found Spang’s vehicle outside the store and found packs of valuable trading cards.

Police believe the cards found in Spang’s car were stolen all around the Pittsburgh area.

Anyone with any information is asked to call 724-339-7533 and ask for Detective Huth.

Sprang faces retail theft charges and is scheduled to appear in court later in December.
