Verizon says fiber cuts are preventing some of its wireless customers from connecting to the network.
And while engineers are working to restore service, customers should not try to restart their phones.
In a statement to KDKA Radio, Verizon Communications Manager Katherin Cruz says restarting the device will complicate getting back on line.
They're urging customers to check Verizon' Network status page for updates.
Downdetector was reporting a host of outages earlier today, affecting Pittsburgh and several other areas across Pennsylvania and into the Northeast.
