Victim killed in McCandless hit-and-run identified as 78-year-old man

A man who was killed during a hit-and-run Saturday night on McKnight Road in McCandless has been identified.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office says that 78-year-old Donald Leach was killed when he was hit.

It happened as he crossed McKnight at Blazier Drive near the Pine Creek Shopping Center around 10:15 p.m.

McCandless Police say they believe the vehicle is a black Honda that suffered damage to the front and passenger side of the car.

Also, the car is missing a mirror and a large piece of molding.
