After nearly 70 years of serving the community, Vincentian Marian Manor, a senior care center in Banksville will be closing its doors July 1.
The president and CEO of the Vincentian Collaborative System, Dean Owrey says it's a matter of not being able to align care to reimbursement on the Senior Care side of this nonprofit faith base facility.
“Senior care, nursing operations are told what they will get paid, when they will get paid and if they get paid and none of that bears any relation to the cost,” Owrey told KDKA Radio.
He adds that it’s a difficult decision but will ultimately make Vincentian Collaborative stronger as a whole.
Owrey says they will place all of those at Marian Manor into similar facilities in the South Hills.
They are also trying to place as many of the employees as they can as well.
