We now know the buyer of Monroeville Mall. It is Walmart.
The retail giant has selected a Dallas-based company to spearhead the mall's redevelopment.
The buyer who purchased Monroeville Mall for $34 million, announced on Friday, has brought on Cypress Equities to lead the redevelopment of the 1.2 million square feet that encompasses the mall and the neighboring annex.
Cypress Equities CEO Chris Maguire said the new development could include residential units.
Entertainment venues, restaurant and office space are also planned for the area.
