An Iraqi war veteran from Pleasant Hills has pleaded guilty to multiple felonies on charges he sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl.
Brandon Rumbaugh was charged with sexually assaulting the victim at his home on two separate occasions in April 2025.
Rumbaugh faces up to 16 years behind bars along with three years of probation.
Police say video surveillance corroborates the victim's claim that Rumbaugh purchased alcohol at a local Sheetz with her on April 12.
The victim says that was the first of two nights where she says she was sexually assaulted by Rumbaugh.
Police say in the second incident; a witness was sleeping in a lower bunk while an assault took place in an upper bunk.
According to the police report, Rumbaugh told the victim to keep story secret until she turned 18.
Rumbaugh lost both of his legs after stepping on an IED in 2009 while serving in Afghanistan.
He spent almost two years undergoing treatment and therapy before he was released from Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington D.C. and returned to Southwestern PA.
