A large online furniture and home store has picked Pittsburgh to open its first “large-format” store.
Wayfair has announced it plans to open a location at North Hills Village off of McKnight Road (home to Kuhn’s Market and Target).
The new store is expected to open sometime next year and will be a 95,000-square-foot store.
“Inside, shoppers will find furniture, décor, housewares and appliances, across Wayfair’s Verified program, free design services and same-day pickup or fast delivery for larger purchases,” Wayfair said in a release.
"Pittsburgh is a region celebrated for its strong community roots and distinct architectural character, making it an incredibly exciting market for our physical retail expansion," said Liza Lefkowski, vice president of merchandising and stores at Wayfair. "We look forward to welcoming local shoppers into a space where they can touch, feel and visualize products across the whole home category, helping them seamlessly bring their home projects to life."
Wayfair has three physical locations in Atlanta, Columbus and Wilmette, Illinois, with other planned in five other cities in addition to Pittsburgh.
