We’re getting a better idea of what the first Wegmans in the Pittsburgh area will look like.
A Wegmans media relations specialist shared new rendering photos of the location coming to Cranberry Township in a couple of years.
The new Wegman’s will be at Cool Spring Drive, right next to the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex and will be about 115,000 square feet in size.

“Cranberry Township is home to many exceptional businesses that enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors alike. We are delighted that Wegmans has chosen Cranberry Township as its first location in the Pittsburgh area,” Cranberry Township Manager Daniel Santoro said when the announcement was made.
Like other Wegmans locations, the Cranberry story will have grocery, a large selection of prepared foods, beer, wine and more.
Wegmans Regional Manager Gary Fechter says the store will also get involved in the community.
“One of the things that’s so meaningful to us is being a great community steward and finding out what the role is that we can play,” said Fechter.
An opening date has yet to be announced. When a construction plan is released it should take about two years from start of construction to finish.
Wegman’s was founded in Rochester, New York in 1916.
