After 107 years, a local furniture store is closing its doors for good.
Weiss Furniture, in Latrobe, has announced it will begin its going-out-of-business sale on September 3.
The family-owned business will be offering “deep discounts” on living room, bedroom and dining room furniture. Mattresses and other items will also be discounted.
"My family has had the privilege of helping generations of families furnish their homes and celebrate life's milestones," said owner Dalia Dunhoff.
Dalia continued to run the business after her husband Richard passed away three years ago, but has now decided to retire.
"Richard cared deeply about this business and the people we served, and I’m incredibly thankful for the loyal customers, employees and friends who have sustained Weiss Furniture for more than a century.”
Weiss Furniture opened in 1919 when Joseph Weiss and his son Hymen started the business.
A final closing day has not been announced.
