West Mifflin Borough is considering a limit on pets per household.

The proposed ordinance states, pet owners would be limited to a maximum of three dogs, and could have “no more than five cats and/or dogs combined in total over the age of 6 months.

The borough manager says the idea came after a vicious dog attack in West Mifflin 11 months ago.

The ordinance includes, but isn't limited to dogs, cats, hamsters and guinea pigs.

If passed, pet owners will have 60 days to come into compliance.

A meeting to vote on the ordinance will be held on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
