An update on a case out of Westmoreland County where a police officer fired a gunshot at a man suspected of robbing a drug store.
District Attorney Nicole Ziccarelli issued a statement Tuesday on the September 2 incident, ruling the officer was justified in his use of force.
41-year-old Sean Lane is accused of stealing Percocet at gunpoint from a North Huntingdon Walgreens.
When police arrived, they said Lane had a gun wrapped in a shirt.
He refused to drop the weapon and pointed it at officers.
That's when a police officer fired his weapon, and Lane dropped to the ground.
He's facing a string of charges now for this robbery and a burglary in Jeannette that happened a few hours earlier.
