A man arrested by troopers early this morning in Westmoreland County is accused of stabbing his 78-year-old mother as she was sleeping.
45-year-old Kort Eckman is charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault and more.
State Police responding to a domestic disturbance at a home in Mount Pleasant Township took Eckman into custody.
The victim was taken to Forbes Hospital in stable condition.
Eckman is now in the Westmoreland County Prison and was arraigned Tuesday morning.
