Christopher McClellan Timko was charged with two counts of aggravated assault of a child Thursday in Westmoreland County, after endangering the welfare of a two-month-old infant and obstruction after an infant was admitted to the hospital with broken bones and severe bruising.
The infant was originally taken to a pediatric doctor in Blairsville on the 28th for a rash.
The rash was then diagnosed as an abrasion and bruise and Timko took the child to Children's hospital to seek further treatment.
Upon evaluation at Children's the infant victim was found with injuries including bruising on the chest, legs, back, head and hands.
Initial testing also revealed two possible rib fractures, along with fractures on both legs according to state police.
At the hospital, Timko was interviewed and allegedly admitted to physically abusing the infant after initially lying about the two-month-olds injuries.
Timko was arraigned in front of Magistrate Judge Denise Thiel and was denied bail.
