The Westwood area of Pittsburgh has a supermarket in the community again.

Giant Eagle opened its newest location Thursday morning on Noblestown Road at the location of the former Shop ‘n Save.

The former Shop ’n Save on Noblestown Road was undergoing renovations when it was recently sold to Giant Eagle.

The new Giant Eagle opened with over 100 people waiting in line to receive a “swag bag” filled with $150 in products and a $10 Giant Eagle gift card.

"We are thrilled to introduce our newest Giant Eagle to our Westwood neighbors — we have been hard at work over the past few months to bring this store to life, and we can’t wait to share it with the community," said Dan Donovan, Giant Eagle Spokesperson. "We feel that we’ve curated a shopping experience to meet the needs of area guests, bringing together a combination of quality and value.”

Giant Eagle also made a $10,000 donation to the Education Partnership to celebrate the grand opening, as well as a 100,000-pound donation to 412 Food Rescue.
