This week, I'm talking with President/CEO George Spencer of Pittsburgh MAD DADS!
It's not an organization of a bunch of angry dads walking around telling kids to pull their pants up. It's a bunch of passionate men in the city of Pittsburgh who have dedicated their time to look after our youth and doing whatever is necessary to keep them safe.
Now you can't save everyone but you can do whatever is necessary to keep them focused on their purpose through mentorship, outreach, community engagement and activities.
Pittsburgh MAD DADS is a NON PROFIT organization that started out of pain, the pain of children dying in the streets of their own communities. We were - and still are tired of looking into the hollow eyes of youth who lacked hope, and had ceased to dream. We realize that we could hold no one responsible for this but ourselves: We allowed this to happen.
The pain and the struggle continues in our streets but the Pittsburgh MAD DADS have pledged to never walk away or give up on our youth.
Talking to Mr. Spencer was inspiring and eye opening!
