Anyone who has been watching What’s Good In Your Hood should know by now that I am a proud member of a black Greek sorority, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated. I love Greek life! I joined because I wanted to be a part of a sisterhood that makes a difference in her community, gives back and exemplifies womanhood through grace, patience, and love.
My choice was Zeta but there are other black Greek sororities that provide the same principles. We couldn’t do any of this without the first black Greek sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, founded in 1908 at Howard University.
The AKA’s as they’re proudly known, have paved the way for women of color who thrive for excellence in becoming leaders in their communities.
Emma Lucas-Darby, President of a local AKA, Alpha Alpha Omega chapter here in Pittsburgh joins me this week for Whats Good. If you’re an AKA or know an AKA or maybe want to become an AKA, you don’t want to miss this episode!
