A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for a large portion of Southwestern PA with an Ice Storm Warning east of Pittsburgh.

Allegheny, Westmoreland, Washington, Beaver, Butler and Armstrong Counties are some of the areas under the advisory from 7 p.m. Wednesday through 10 a.m. Thursday.

Freezing rain with accumulating ice is expected from one to two tenths of an inch.

The National Weather Service says an inch of snow is also possible.

The frozen precipitation could make for a messy Thursday commute around Pittsburgh.

After the morning commute, temperatures will rise into the mid-50s making for an easier ride home Thursday night.

Higher elevations are under an Ice Storm Warning and include parts of Westmoreland and Fayette Counties.

Power outages are “likely” in those areas with a quarter of an inch possible.
