PITTSBURGH (100.1 FM and AM 1020 KDKA) Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf says he wants all kids to know they matter.
Governor Wolf signed an executive order on Tuesday that he says will protect LGBTQIA+ youth from conversion therapy.
Wolf says right wing extremists across the nation have been using their power to bully gay, lesbian, and transgender kids.
“The phony moral outrage on the part of right wing politicians has fed a very real and very dangerous wave of discrimination and violence against the LGBTQ community.”
In a tweet, Wolf says that the executive order directs state agencies to discourage conversion therapy at all costs, promote evidence based medical treatment, and update policies.
The ultimate goal of the executive order is to ban conversion therapy across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
