Wexford woman allegedly forged signatures on Pine-Richland school board petition

A Wexford woman is facing charges for allegedly forging signatures on a petition for a Pine-Richland School District candidate.

The Attorney General's office says 36-year-old Kayla Van Blargan forged at least four elector signatures on a petition for school board candidate Kathleen Rivotti, who eventually dropped out of the race.

“Our democracy is dependent on free, transparent, and fair elections — with no exceptions, no matter what level of government,” PA Attorney General Dave Sunday said. “Our office will enforce the Pennsylvania Election Code regardless of the parties or candidates involved. These criminal actions directly threatened the integrity of the election process that residents of this school district depended on for leadership over institutions of learning.”

Van Blargan faces forgery, perjury and other charges.
