A Westmoreland County woman and one other person have been convicted of first-degree murder charges in the death of her mother.
A jury deliberated for about two hours in the murder trial of 51-year-old Melissa Fox-Beacom and 20-year-old Matthew Bates.
They were accused of conspiring with a third defendant in the December 2023 murder of 72-year-old Alice Robson, who was shot in the head, twice, in her Saint Clair Township living room.
Prosecutors say the third defendant, Robert Jack, who has yet to go on trial, was given the gun to kill Robson.
Robson's body was found three days after she'd been killed, hidden under the porch of her home.
The gun was eventually found in Donegal Lake.
