PITTSBURGH (100.1 FM and AM 1020 KDKA) — Pittsburgh Police, EMS, and Animal Care & Control reported to a dog attack Saturday at around 9:10 a.m.
The attack took place in the 1000 block of Blackadore Avenue and left a woman in serious condition.
The female victim had been attacked by two dogs, receiving damage to her head and face.
The woman was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
The dogs, however, had been secure in a home.
Animal Care & Control arrived shortly after first responders to take possession of the dogs.
The Violent Crime Unit has initiated an investigation into the incident.
Initial findings of the investigation have revealed that the victim is related to the dog owner, and she was attempting to let the dogs out of the residence.
