South Fayette woman dies in freak hiking accident in Upper St. Clair

A South Fayette woman died Friday morning after she was hit with a falling tree branch in Upper St. Clair Thursday evening, the Township announced Friday.

The woman and her husband, who were not identified, were hiking along the Morton Ravine Trail in Boyce Mayview Park at the time of the incident.

Upper St. Clair says the man was also seriously injured, but his current condition is unknown.

"The Township of Upper St. Clair offers deepest condolences to the family of the South Fayette couple," the Township said on their website.

No other information was immediately available.
