Two strangers linked by an organ donation shared their moving story on the Big Morning Show Friday morning.

A man whose kidney function is down to four percent with few years to live asked Marty Griffin for help in getting a transplant.

Marty and Ryan Neve's daughter produced an internet video that connected him with this woman.

“And I just Googled ‘kidney recipient UPMC’ and that’s when I saw his daughter’s video and I said that’s it,”

That's Cindy Farrell, a nurse who calls her left kidney spare tissue. Says she's an instrument of the divine. And how does Ryan feel about that?

“I love you with all of my heart, you have saved my life,” Ryan told Cindy holding back tears.

Ryan says he's looking forward to attending his children's sports and later their weddings. Surgery is the first week of January.

Farrell has donated liver at UPMC in the past as well. That donation saved the life of a one-year-old.
