Woman tells police she escaped hours-long kidnapping in Wilkinsburg

Wilkinsburg Police have a warrant for a 19-year-old man accused of kidnapping, aggravated assault, theft and other charges.

Dontae Stevens allegedly called a woman to a home Thursday night on Clark Street for a haircut.

But when she arrived, police say Stevens and another person restrained, blindfolded and pistol-whipped her, demanding access to a cash app on her phone and also cash.

The woman told officers she was held at gunpoint for several hours while the men made ransom demands.

The criminal complaint says the suspects took the woman, in her own vehicle, to a gas station on Ardmore Boulevard where she escaped.

She was later evaluated for a possible concussion.
