
UPDATE from Pittsburgh Police: "The driver of the vehicle has been located and he is fully cooperative with police. The investigation is ongoing."
Pittsburgh Police are investigating after a fatal hit-and-run Thursday morning in Oakland.
First responders were dispatched around 5:45 to the intersection of Terrace and Darragh Streets for reports of a person in the road.
A 37-year-old woman was found in the street with injuries that were believed to have come from being hit by a vehicle.
She was taken to the hospital in grave condition and was pronounced dead less than an hour later.
Detectives believe the woman was crossing Darragh Street in a crosswalk with the collision happened.
Police say they located the vehicle involved, a white 2019 Freightliner box truck but no suspect yet.
