A Westmoreland County woman who allegedly faked her own abduction is now facing several criminal charges.

State police say Chloe Stein was never missing or in danger after her car was found abandoned in Greensburg Tuesday.

Instead, they say it was all a hoax. Stein sent her boyfriend a message Monday night she was being pulled over by police.

When she didn't come home, her mother reported her missing Tuesday.

Police spent several hours searching for her.

Then they got a tip she was at a house in Jeannette.

Stein initially told police she had been abducted at gunpoint, later admitted to making it all up.

Stein is now charged with false alarm, false reports, obstruction and disorderly conduct.
